Frequently asked questions

How often must first responder training be refreshed?

Under §40 of the Workplaces Ordinance (AStV), the first responder qualification must be refreshed every 2 years with an 8-hour refresher to remain valid.

What happens if the refresher is missed?

If the last training or refresher was more than 2 years ago, the person no longer counts as a trained first responder under the AStV, and the company no longer meets the legal requirement – hence the timely 8-hour refresher.

Do I need a specific prior course for the refresher?

The refresher builds on an existing 16-hour first responder training. If no one on your team is trained yet, or the training was a long time ago, the 16-hour First Responder Training is the right course.

Do you come to our company?

Yes. We deliver the refresher as a private event directly at your location – throughout Tyrol and the surrounding region – or at our training center in Hall in Tirol. Travel is billed transparently as mileage.

What does the first responder refresher cost?

A competitive flat rate applies for the private event with up to 20 participants, plus mileage. You receive a non-binding offer – fully deductible as a business expense.

First Responder Refresher – detailed information

The First Responder Refresher for companies from Simulation Tirol fulfills the statutory continuing-education obligation under §40 of the Workplaces Ordinance (AStV): the first responder qualification must be renewed every 2 years with an 8-hour refresher (1 day). This keeps your company continuously compliant – physician-led by Dr. Daniel Pehböck, specialist in anesthesiology and intensive care medicine, with a strong hands-on share on high-tech simulators. As a private company event at your location or at our center in Hall in Tirol near Innsbruck.

In a single day, your company's first responders refresh all key measures and bring them up to the latest AHA and ERC guidelines: CPR and defibrillator (AED), recovery position and helmet removal, recognizing heart attack and stroke, wound care, bandaging and bleeding control, and teamwork in realistic emergency scenarios. Concludes with a certificate, no exam.

Anyone who misses the refresher loses their status as a trained first responder under the AStV – a timely 8-hour refresher keeps your team ready and your company on the safe side. No one trained on your team yet? Then the 16-hour First Responder Training is the right starting point.

Simulation Tirol is a physician-led company and travels throughout Tyrol and the surrounding region – Innsbruck, Hall in Tirol, Schwaz, Kufstein, Wörgl, Kitzbühel, Lienz, and beyond. Over 8,000 participants have already trained with us; companies such as Fröschl, IKB, and the Workers' Samaritan Association trust our courses. Non-binding offer with a transparent flat rate and mileage, payment by invoice, fully deductible as a business expense. Request your first responder refresher now.
