Frequently asked questions

Is first responder training legally required in companies in Austria?

Yes. Under §26 of the Employee Protection Act (ASchG) and §40 of the Workplaces Ordinance (AStV), a sufficient number of trained first responders must be present during working hours. The basic training comprises 16 hours.

How many first responders does my company need?

The required number depends on company size and type of workplace. In office and comparable workplaces, at least 1 first responder is required up to 19 employees, at least 2 from 20 employees, and one more for every additional 20. Other workplaces (e.g. production) follow stricter ratios from as few as 5 employees. The current wording of AStV §40 applies – we're happy to advise on your exact needs.

How long is the training valid and when is a refresher due?

The first responder qualification must be refreshed every 2 years. For this we offer the 8-hour First Responder Refresher (1 day).

Do you come to our company?

Yes. We deliver the training as a private event directly at your location – throughout Tyrol and the surrounding region – or at our training center in Hall in Tirol. Travel is billed transparently as mileage.

Is there a final exam?

No. The course concludes with a certificate without an exam. The focus is your team's practical skills – 95% of the time is spent training on high-tech simulators.

What does the first responder training cost?

A competitive flat rate applies for the private event with up to 20 participants, plus mileage for travel to you. You receive a non-binding offer with transparently itemized services – fully deductible as a business expense.
